12: Double Your Fun

When you found out that the Orsini twins played Magic, you offered to bring a deck the next time you came to babysit. You arrived with an appropriate Commander deck built around Riku of Two Reflections, and a lot of “twos”, “duals” and “twins” in your one hundred.

As it turns out, Raffaela and Renata had a Commander deck of their own, and it’s well-honed. They’ve been expertly using Radha, Heir to Keld and various other support cards to play monstrous creatures, and it’s taken all you had in order to keep the board stable. What’s worse is that your deck isn’t cooperating with you: You’ve drawn straight forests for most of the game, and have yet to see a source of red mana. You only managed to cast a Dragon-Style Twins on the back of a Manamorphose, and even now they’re seriously outclassed.

Last turn you finally managed to draw and play an island, then use it to cast a Second Sight. With that, you were able to find a mountain and put it on top of your library; considering that you’ve got a flow of red spells coming, you need it. Then the twins took their turn, and, after giving each other a couple of conspiratorial nods, dropped a 15/15 Primordial Hydra on the table.

You’ve now taken your draw, played your mountain, and surveyed the board. Raffaela and Renata’s Engulfing Slagwurm has been eating your blockers non-stop, and they’re at a high life total as a result. If you don’t do anything, you’ll be staring down the barrel of a 30/30 trampler next turn.

It is the middle of your first main phase. Can you win the game this turn?
