On a lark, you and Patcharee decided to try a base set booster draft. Not a Core Set draft, mind you — there have been quite a few of those available lately — but a base set draft. As in, cards from the original Alpha and Beta releases.
You’re not using real Alpha and Beta cards, of course; that would be too expensive for either of you. Instead, you’re using versions of the cards as they were reprinted in further expansions. (Fourth and Fifth Edition were pretty good to you in that regard.) For the more expensive non-reprints, you stuck some printed stickers on a few unwanted commons.
Patcharee ended up drafting a traditional white-black deck with some very efficient creatures, and has been beating you for six straight games. You’re now deep into your seventh, and it looks like she’s also going to win this one: in addition to bringing the beatdown with a giant Serra Angel, Patcharee just played a Circle of Protection: Green, invalidating your entire board in one go.
On what looks like your final turn, your draw turns out to be a Lure — usually not a bad draw late in the game, but not very optimal on this occasion. Still, you think it’s enough to end this game in your favor.
It is the beginning of your first main phase. Can you win the game this turn?
